Can we talk about that bedside table first? Good, because I love it. I was lucky enough to snag it from an online garage sale for 25% of its original price. Yes friends, 25%...that's a 75% discount. If online garage sales are a new concept to you, hop over to your Facebook right now (seriously right now) and search for online garage sales in your area. These are Facebook groups where people from certain areas of town can post items to sell, literally like a garage sale except from the comfort of your couch and PJ's! I owe several pieces in my home to these online garage sales. (Here is the link to the nightstand at its original retailer. It is on sale right now, still a bit pricey for my budget but it's a great piece to have all the same!)

The mirroring is carried over into the simple and clean lamp from Home Goods (a go-to for my lightling fixtures.) And in keeping with the light and airy, not wanting to weigh down the space too much, everything else on my nightstand is bright or neutral. Currently, I'm working through Shauna Neiquist's Savor and as most people do, I'm really loving it. I have a smattering of other reads stocked on the lower shelf too, so stay tuned for a future post on those.

Front and center when I wake up in the morning are those beautiful succelents, rich and lively with their lush green hue. Not - 100% plastic. Here's a big window into my soul - I really struggle with keeping plants alive.
Fowers? Dead. Houseplants? Kaput.
I've been told that real succulents are fool-proof, because they are in the cactus family (aka even the desert can't kill them.) But guess what? I can. In college I had an adorable little row of succulents, my succulent village if you will, on the windowsill in our kitchen. And every single one of them met a bitter end due to my apparent plant-keeping inabilities. Thumbs down. It's sad, really, because I love the freshness of snipped greens and peony stems. But since I just can't seem to keep them, I composed my own faux-terrarium and it has stayed alive and vibrant for a year now. (wink wink)
And the item on my table that is probably closest to my heart is the darling calligraphy print that my cousin gave me for my college graduation (custom made by cbrannendesign.) Gold and calligraphy - you really couldn't get any closer to the core of my loves, so naturally I keep it where I see it beggining and end, every day.

Oh, and don't forget the Eos lipbalm. Never forget the Eos.
Welcome to my life friends, I can't wait to share more of it with you.
