accidental resolution

So reading didn't make it onto my 2018 resolution list. But here we are, 22 days in to the New Year and I find myself already four books down.

At this point - that's practically a book a week. While I don't plan on keeping this pace up, I thought I would highlight for you what I've read so far! (I've also thrown in a few of my recent favorites, too.)

The first on the list was Every Last Lie - what a page turner, y'all. Truly suspenseful, keeping you on your toes and bonding your heart with the characters. It's a dual narrator format - the husband telling the story from the past and the wife telling the story from the future. Personally, this feature always earns a book extra points in my opinion, but I know some people are less crazy about that layout. In my opinion though, it's definitely worth the read!

Up next, Love Water Memory. This one has been on my list for quite some time, not even sure where the original recommendation came from. It was a slower paced novel than the others, but also more heartfelt and investing. Highly recommend! Extra note: When I looked up the book online to link it here for you, I read that it's based on a true story! That definitely sweetens it to a must read!

Behind Closed Doors was one that has been on my radar for a while. I had shied away from it under the concern it would be too intense for me. And quite frankly, while it was a truly suspenseful page turner, it wasn't exactly my cup of tea. While the book overall was not my favorite - particularly the subject matter- the ending was perfect.

Last is The Break Down - by the same author as Behind Closed Doors. So far I'm loving this one more than the previous, but I'm still in the midst of reading it. I maaaaaay have peaked into the final pages of the book, so I have an incling of where it's going, but I'm still very much on my toes waiting for all the twists and turns! Even though I haven't finished it yet, I think it's worth the read!

I've already got three more books ready and waiting - hopefully I'll have more good recommendations coming soon!
