I've been trying to perfect my gallery wall game and I'd like to think it's going pretty well. When we moved into this apartment last July, I wanted to make a strong statement in our entryway, my first ever. I wanted something that was inviting and set the tone for the rest of our home. What I love about gallery walls is that their whole purpose is to cluster together all the things you love into one, very pretty, focal point. I also love that they are fluid, unique, and make it so easy to change things up.
You know how much I push for pretty + practical, and this space is an on-point example of that aesthetic. Most of these pieces were picked and pulled together over the past couple years and have spent time in various parts of my previous apartments. Gallery walls pull together smaller pieces that haven't been connected before and string them together in one cohesive space. It's like adding a new chapter to the story in a very beloved book.
What makes my heart melt is stepping back, looking at this space, and remembering the story behind each piece. I bought that chalkboard on a weekend trip to Raleigh in college. That Texas sillhouette helped me take a piece of Texas with me when I moved to Tennessee. The cross was a high school graduation gift from one of my dearest friends. And that mirror was my first ever DIY for my first ever apartment. This wall makes my heart give a little sigh of relief and contentment - dwelling on all the good memories from recent years and spurring me on to making more in those to come.
