This is the house that started it all.

I found myself purposefully going out of my way just so I could drive by this property, slowing to a crawl and peering through my window. I've even taken friends and family by to see it. "Look at that house! Isn't it gorgeous?" Taking so much pride and joy in something that wasn't even mine! After several detours of driving by just to gawk at it's exterior my brain sparked with the idea of starting this series on the blog.

I'm consistently drawn to clean, white houses. They give off a wonderful airy, light, and simple vibe, almost like a clean palette for all your seasonal adjustments. The four things that drew me to this house in particular were the horizontal siding, the metal roof, the plethora of windows, and the gravel drive. I am always such a sucker for a gravel drive.

This house in particular is a clean, no fuss style. You know that all those windows must flood the interior with some truly wonderful light. And the thin horizontal siding gives a nice dimension to a flat white face without screaming out for attention. It's a sweet, subtle detail that draws your eye in and creates character. I haven't seen siding like this before and it really drew my eye in the first time I drove by. (P.S. Do you notice how the garage door is blended with the rest of the house since it is faced with the same thin siding? So clever!)

I can just imagine rolling up on that gravel driveway and hearing the satisfying crunch under my tires. And the clean minimalism of the landscaping makes my heart beat a little bit faster! So maybe that's the fifth reason I really love this house? The reasons just keep on coming!
