The warm weather is in full swing and I am buzzing to get outside. I've started taking my morning coffee on the patio and I am loving. it. We are lucky to enough to have an apartment in central Dallas that happens to look out onto a seemingly remote tropical bliss. Our apartment is surrounded by trees which means we can leave our blinds up at all hours - hellllooo sunlight!

Our patio is not a huge space, but you learn to make the most of what you've got. I know you've heard me reference the treasure that is virtual garage sales before, so here it is again! Another amazing online find - these chairs! Swiped for a mere $50 for the pair with cushions + the table. They're bright, crisp, clean, and bring just the right dash of color to the patio. I was so lucky to snag these at such a great price, but you can still grab them at Target (also available in turquoise and black or splurge on a set of 4 in coral, turquoise, or beige!) Don't forget the cushions - your derriere will thank you.

Even the simplest of touches can take a space from plain to cozy. Stepping back and looking at this, all it took was two chairs, a table, some string lights, and a little bit of greenery. Really not that much, right?

Yes, I could do a lot more with it, but for now I'm enjoying the simplicity of the space. The point of making this space attractive is to draw people (including myself) to spend time outside. But once you're outside the focus should be the views and the community, not the chair you're sitting on. So in short, it should be just appealing enough, but not so overwhelming that it draws away from the important things - like intentional conversations and long summer nights.

How are you spending your time outside in this wonderfully warm weather?
