I recently had the joy of making a weekend dash up to Oklahoma City to see my near and dear friend, Ann Marie. This is a girl who's friendship and style I have admired for many years. She's one of those friends who has that effortless J-Crew aura around her at all times. (We all have a friend like that, don't we?) All that to say I have a great respect for this girl's style. She carries an element of clean minimalism and it overflows into her styling as well.

If I could tag her space with three words they would be: clean, classic, and gold (of course.) She does a wonderful job of mixing slightly modern pieces with more traditional finds.

Personally I have fallen head over heels in love with her couch. I kid you not, I have checked the website multiple times, scouting for a sale. I don't even need a new couch - but for this one, I might just consider the overhaul! The simple lines of the arm rests offset by the luxury of the velvet and the tufting are balanced with the clean off-white color, making this a piece that will work in any home, with any color palette.

She had a wonderful way of adding her personal touch to the space too. Ever since she landed a summer job with Southwest Airlines a few years ago, Ann Marie has been bitten by the travel bug. She spares no vacation time, not even a weekend is left untouched by adventure! I truly admire her get-go and hop-to-it-tiveness. I think we can all agree there's nothing quite as good as a truly enrapturing coffee table book, and this one takes the cake. The New York Time's 36 hours 125 Weekend Trips in Europe had me enraptured. This was just weeks before my summer excursion across the pond so I dug into this book and let me just tell you it's recommendations were on point! If you have any weekend trips planned in the near future, abroad or stateside, I highly recommend picking up this gem from your local bookstore or Amazon. It will make you feel like you're navigating your travels with the wit and savvy of a local in the know. (Also available for US and Canada and Latin America.)

And what's better for adding a personal touch to your space than a fun new way to share your instagrams? I know I'm social media addicted and I loved the way Ann Marie brought it into physical form in her apartment. Not only is it beyond simple, but it's endlessly versatile as you can just swap out a photo for a new favorite with no more than a flick of your wrist and some scotch tape.
