touch of copper

I love a touch of metallic shine anywhere I can get it, but gosh darn it is hard to photograph! So please excuse my cameo appearance in these photos, because I am not a professional photographer, I'm just a girl trying to figure out this blogging thing. That being said, don't you love this lamp?!

It made its first appearance several months back on my fresh finds page, and I've been thinking about it ever since! Not too long ago, West Elm had a lighting sale and that was all the motivation I needed to snatch this sucker up. Originally sold in copper and brushed brass, it is now just available in brass. But the color is not the only selling point for this lovely little piece.

The real reason I bought it was the footprint. Lamps take up space, and on my desk, real-estate is scarce and highly valued - I need every. stinking. inch. So the open footprint was a major win. How much do you love it with that sweet aloe plant nestled right in there? The perfect little niche to bring some greenery to my desktop. I just love it.

Gaining light without sacrificing space, a major win in my book.
