We don't mess around at Christmas. No day shall be spared, we decorate for this holiday like it is our job.

The rest of you may spend your Black Fridays scoring the hottest deals and wrestling with other customers for that must have TV. But we spend it picking out our tree at the lot and heaving Christmas boxes out of the closet. And I really wouldn't have it any other way.

Truth be told, I don't impose a total pre-Thanksgiving Christmas ban. I let the Christmas music, shopping, and wrapping creep in on my Thanksgiving time. But I put my foot down firmly when it comes to decor. (Or at least I try to put it down firmly.)
The decorations create a special magical atmosphere in the home and I worry that if I get in the habit of putting them up too early, it'll take away from the magic. So if I have to bide my time for a couple extra weeks, I think it's probably worth it.

Of course once the decorations are up, it makes for one cheery home. I spend a good bit of my mornings on the couch in front of the tree, just soaking up the beginning of the day. It also becomes the center of our gatherings at the apartment, always gravitating towards sitting nearby, letting the lights cast a glow over our community time together.

But my hands down favorite decoration? The one I'm truly tempted to pull out before Thanksgiving passes? It's that sweet sweet set of cards hanging on our window behind the couch. Keep an eye on the blog as I'll soon be sharing more about it, what it is, where you can get it, and why I'm so in love with it.
(P.S. Cameo appearance by my Christmas decorating exhausted roomie - the girl who truly lets me run amok with all my design ideas, turning our apartment into one big design experiment. xoxo)
