where I've been

I know I kind of disappeared around here, and believe me it's for good reason! I wish I had some cool excuse like I've been popping around Europe or something, but instead I've been sitting right here in Dallas, but this season of life has hit hard!

Everything has come in a bit of a hurricane - school ended and I had to shut down my classroom for the summer. I started an internship at rewardStyle which has been a joyful whirlwind all its own. And then the creme de la creme - I moved. All of this together has absorbed all of my free time and mental energy. Comically, looking at these photos of my apartment all packed up before the move, it seems like so little, but man it seemed like so much.

While June has been a crazy month - it's been a heck of a lot of fun. Friends, moving is stressful, but oooohhh its so exciting. It feels so good to compartmentalize and purge everything. I'll never be a minimalist, but moving is the closest I'll ever get. And you're gifted with a fresh canvas in your new home, new walls, new floorpans, new everything! You get opportunities for reinventions and recreations. And it is so, stinking, fun.

All that to say, I'm sorry to have dropped off the edge of the internet. I've missed y'all and I hope you've missed me too!

Pssstt...be on the lookout for another post in the next couple of days!

quick fixes

#1

Move things around! Sometimes your space is just stale and needs variation. Figure out another way for the puzzle pieces to fit together.

#2

Bring in some greenery or fresh flowers. Guaranteed to bring a little more life to any space.

#3

Open up your blinds! Natural light restores a space like none other. Short supply of windows? Increase your own lighting with bright and effective lamps.
